I’m running for School Board because I believe education should unite us—not
divide us. I’m not a politician—I’m a parent, a lifelong South Whidbey resident, and a
fierce advocate for our children, families, and educators.
My focus is improving education and parent involvement. Our schools should be
sanctuaries where every child—regardless of nationality, identity, beliefs, or
background—feels safe, welcomed, and inspired to learn. Education isn’t about politics;
it’s about nurturing our kids and strengthening our community.
I will advocate for every child with compassion and determination. As a mother of
two boys—one a graduate of SWHS and one entering high school—I’ve experienced
public, private, and homeschooling. As a parent of a special needs child, I understand
the rights all students deserve.
I’ve proven my commitment for nearly a decade, as I’ve attended School Board
meetings in person—not as a spectator, but as a listener, learner, and voice for parents,
teachers, and staff. I’ve shown up consistently because I care deeply about our schools. I am a mom who wants the best for every student, including my own.
I bring both heart and hands-on experience to this race. I’ve worked as a private
school teacher, paraeducator in the South Whidbey School District, and currently as a
substance use counselor. My leadership extends beyond the classroom through active
roles with the Fairgrounds Advisory Committee, South Whidbey Wellness Coalition,
Autism Partnership of Island County, and other local initiatives. I’ve consistently shown
up for our community, and now I’m ready to serve on the School Board—advocating for
every child, every parent/guardian, and every educator.
Education runs deep in my family—my mother taught in our district for 30 years, and
my brother teaches in Coupeville. I’m proud to carry that legacy forward with integrity,
empathy, and a commitment to Excellence in Education.
I’ve spent years standing up for our children and supporting our schools.
Together, we can make our school district a place where every child is empowered to
thrive and every parent’s voice matters.
