Sharing my Community Involvement
I want the community to understand my deep commitment to improving our school district. My belief is that we live in a paradise and our schools should reflect the best our island has to offer. Since we already have strong, dedicated teachers and so many supportive parents, I want to help make the needed changes.

I was moved to obtain a seat on the board after hearing from numerous parents and staff who feel unheard by the current board regarding their children’s needs. I am uniquely qualified to be a strong advocate ensuring parental voices are heard and prioritized in all decision-making.
I am the proud mother of two boys, one a graduate of SWHS and the other beginning high school in 2025. I have navigated both public and private schools, as well as homeschooling. As the parent of a special needs child, I am aware of all rights such students are legally entitled to.
I believe in community involvement and currently serve on
- the Fairgrounds Advisory Committee,
- the South Whidbey Wellness Coalition (since 2019)
- the autism Partnership of Island County (since 2019).
I have also been involved with the Island County Fair Association Board, HOPE Therapeutic Riding, 4H and youth ministries.
I currently work as a substance use clinician, advocating for both students and adults. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Services.
I have been a private school teacher and a para substitute for SWSD. My mother taught in the district for 30 years and my brother currently teaches in Coupeville.
The best way to understand a school board is to attend the meetings and I have attended regularly for many years. I am ready and willing to become a member of our school board.
I invite your thoughts and questions. I want the community to understand my deep commitment to improving our school district.
